This is a video by Stephen Gray. Its footage of the GoMachine show that took place this past weekend at Crocodile in Belltown. If your like me and missed the two day spectacle then I guess this is the next best thing. If the actual show was anything like what Gray captured, then I might have missed the show of the year.

The roster for the weekend included artists such as Fresh Espresso, Spaceman, Grynch, Macklemore, Thee satisfaction, and The physics just to name a few.

Jake A Lock for the 2010 Season

Posted in Town Bizness with tags , , on December 14, 2009 by malachiproducer

According to GoHuskies.com, red shirt junior quarterback Jake Locker did not submit his name for consideration in the 2010 draft. This comes after he lead the Dawgs to a 5-7 record(a big improvement over their 0-12 performance a year ago). He passed for 2,800 yards moving his name up to the 3rd slot in Husky history for most passing yards in a season. He also threw 21 TD’s and ran for 7.

Hopefully at this time next year Locker and the rest of the team will be getting ready for a showdown in Pasadena

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’s “Vs Ep” Release Date Postponed

Posted in Town Bizness with tags , , , , on December 11, 2009 by malachiproducer

According to the duo’s Myspace page the Vs Ep will be released digitally on Myspace next Tuesday, December 15th. The digital copy will contain one bonus track that the hard copy wont have. In the mean time you can listen to Macklemore’s previous release “The Unplanned Mixtape” to get your fix of the popular Macklemore and Ryan Lewis Duo.

Heres a video of one of the songs off the mixtape entitled “Irish Celebration.” This song captures a very catchy Irish melody that carries out underneath Lewis’s well crafted rhythmic production.

Whatcom’s New Lightcatcher Museum

Posted in Just Thought This Was Dope with tags , , , on December 10, 2009 by malachiproducer

I was reading the Seattle Times earlier and came across an article by Seattle Times reporter Tan Vinh about the new Whatcom Lightcatcher Museum. I just thought it was so dope that the new Whatcom Museum is becoming such a big hit not just amongst the people of Bellingham, but of the entire state and beyond.

The museum opened its doors a few weeks ago on November 14th after a 12 year construction effort.  According to the museum’s website it is named for its focal point and most innovative feature — a spectacular, translucent wall 37 feet high and 180 feet long, that captures the Northwest’s most precious natural resource: sunlight. The 42,000-square-foot-building integrates natural materials native to the region and will be the first museum in Washington designed and registered to LEED Silver-Level specifications.

The glowing 38 foot high walls attracted nearly 5,000 people on opening day alone. I’m sure the city is hoping that the number of people walking through the doors stays at a consistently high number in order to justify the 18.3 million dollar price tag that came with it. I’ll be heading up to Bellingham within the next few weeks so a glance at the 42,000 square foot contemporary art collection is somewhere in my foreseeable future.

Shabazz Palaces Bring The Boho-Gangster Sound Back To The Town

Posted in Town Bizness with tags , , , , , , on December 9, 2009 by malachiproducer

Ishmael Butler aka Ish, aka Butterfly of Digable Planets will be in Seattle at Neumo’s on January 8th. He will be performing with his new group Shabazz Palaces and introducing a completely new flavor of neo-deconstructed hip hop. They call it the boho-gangster sounds and for those who havn’t had a chance to listen to them, a small intimate setting such as the one provided by Neumo’s will probably be a great opportunity. The group has a CD and Ep available for sale on their website so go support your local Seattle brethren.

This is the video to the song Belhaven Meridian which was probably their most well received song. I myself would suggest listening to the song entitled “A Mess” to really hear Ish and how he is so unique as a vocalist. The song samples the popular Bootsy Collins hit “Id Rather Be With You.”

DJ Scene and Dyme Def Mixtape Release

Posted in Town Bizness with tags , , , , , on December 8, 2009 by malachiproducer

A couple of Seattle’s biggest names combine to bring you the Do Something mixtape. It is being hosted by who else but DJ Scene and being released this Thursday the 10th and Cowgirls Inc in Pioneer Square. I havn’t been able to locate a link for the mixtape itself but I will post one when it is made available.

This mixtape should serve as a good appetizer to the highly anticipated ‘Sextape’ album that Dyme Def and BeanOne have in the works.

Yes the rumors are true! I spoke with a representative from Nectar Lounge over in Fremont and they were able to confirm that the two members of Digable Planets have asked to reschedule their show that was originally supposed to be this Friday the 11th. Also originally slated to perform were MTK and Ra Scion of Common Market. Full refunds are available if you purchased your tickets in advance.

Seattle native Butterfly and his partner Doodlebug released a mixtape entitled “Sounds From The 7th Dimension a couple months ago to promote their fall tour. The mixtape was mixed by DJ Alex and it gives their classic funk sounds that we grew up on a fresh 2009 vibe. Check out the link and download it so that when they’re back in the town your ready.
